BAIC BJEV allies with Japanese Firm TURING to introduce ARCFOX EVs to Japan

Beijing (ZXZC)- On October 8, BAIC BJEV, the new energy vehicle arm of BAIC Group, joined forces with Japan's TURING company to introduce vehicles powered by intelligent driving technologies to the Japanese market.

This collaboration also aims to explore the commercialization of autonomous driving technology in Japan.

TURING has a long-standing commitment to the R&D of autonomous driving technology and relevant industrial application. According to the agreement, the initial cooperative car model will be based on the ARCFOX αS, a high-end electric sedan under BAIC BJEV’s ARCFOX brand. TURING will make intelligent modifications to adapt the vehicle for the specific needs of the Japanese market, with plans to introduce it for sale in Japan in 2024.

The ARCFOX αS is a mid-sized electric sedan with a price range from 189,800 yuan to 329,800 yuan in China, offering various versions to cater to different preferences. Notably, it includes the Forest Edition, which was unveiled and officially launched at the Greater Bay Area International Auto Show on June 16 this year. In August, a new addition to the ARCFOX αS Forest Edition, the 735E, was introduced with an official price guide of 249,800 yuan, boasting an impressive battery-powered range of 735 kilometers. This makes it one of the few pure-electric vehicles in the market priced under 25,000 yuan with a range exceeding 700 kilometers.

Furthermore, the ARCFOX αS also has an advanced version known as the ARCFOX αS HI edition, which is the world's first mass-produced car to carry Huawei's HI full-stack smart car solution, and the world's first luxury electric production sedan with a smart cabin developed on HarmonyOS. The vehicle features 34 sensors and a high-performance smart driving computing platform, enabling advanced smart driving assistance for highway, city, and parking scenarios.
