Beijing (ZXZC)- Beijing-based new energy vehicle manufacturer BAIC BJEV saw its monthly sales almost double from that of a year ago in September, according to its parent company BAIC BluePark’s announcement issued on October 9.

In the past month, BAIC BJEV produced 2,907 vehicles, representing a 28.63% jump year-on-year. In the meantime, the company sold 8,325 vehicles, which soared 94.55% from the year-ago period. 

In the first nine months of this year, BAIC BJEV’s cumulative sales summed up to 54,753 vehicles, spiking 90.81% year over year. 

In a bid to enhance its collaboration with Huawei, BAIC BJEV, is set to establish a new factory, as disclosed in an announcement made by BAIC BluePark in August.

Specifically, in response to production and operational requirements, BAIC BJEV intends to relocate and alter the Beijing High-end Intelligent Ecological Factory (referred to as the "High-end Factory") construction project, relocating it from Yizhuang to Miyun District with a total planned investment of 1.612 billion yuan.

The resurrected High-end Factory project for BAIC BJEV is set to serve as a production capacity base for its joint efforts with Huawei. The announcement highlights that, to further intensify their partnership, BAIC BJEV will collaborate with both Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd. In this cooperative endeavor, the inaugural model is positioned as a high-end intelligent pure electric passenger car.
