The two companies will work together closely in multiple directions, including chassis parts, control systems, electric motor systems, and passive safety systems. Moreover, in order to allow the free-movement ability on the automotive robot, ZF and JIDU will also work on the development of next-generation intelligent chassis technology.
JIDU believes that drive-by-wire chassis is one of the key technologies to achieve automotive intelligence. The digital signal-controlled chassis realizes mechanical decoupling to the control and execution systems. This type of chassis meets the requirement of high-level autonomous driving and enriches smart cockpit functions.
According to the young automaker, JIDU has been working on drive-by-wire chassis three-way integration and chassis domain controlling technologies. Especially the steer-by-wire technology, JIDU selected a strong R&D team for the said technology in 2021.
With ZF taking on the development work of chassis parts and digital execution interfaces, while JIDU handles intelligent driving and product experience-related works, JIDU grows more confident in its automotive robot development.
Additionally, JIDU’s L4 autonomous driving automotive robot will be unveiled at the Beijing auto show in April.
