Shanghai’s Jiading District to build international automotive chip innovation headquarters

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Jiading District, Shanghai City plans to start constructing the International Automotive Chip Innovation Headquarters by the end of this year with the successful acquisition of the 22-10 plot recently announced by local authority.

With a total investment of 330 million yuan, the project is likely to be completed by July 2025, followed by full-scale production in 2026, according to a post on the official WeChat account “Shanghai Jiading”.

Situated in Anting Town, the acquired plot spans nearly 7,000 square meters and encompasses the former location of the esteemed "Yinan Hotel." As part of the development, a commercial business building, spanning over 30,000 square meters, will be erected.

The vision for this headquarters is to attract over 20 leading chip companies with annual revenues anticipated to surpass 440 million yuan and tax contributions expected to exceed 44 million yuan.

In terms of commercial supporting facilities, the project aims to create a commercial building that integrates dining, leisure, entertainment, fitness, training, and conference services. Preliminary agreements have already been reached with brands such as China Merchants Bank, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, FamilyMart, Häagen-Dazs, and Heilan Home. In the future, more comprehensive supporting services will be provided.

The International Automotive Chip Innovation Headquarters represents an important layout for Anting Town to establish a future high ground for the automotive industry. Up to now, nearly 20 chip projects, including Saishou Technology and Matrix Driving, have been successfully launched in Anting Town.
