Honda Motor sees China monthly sales jump 13.7% YoY in May 2023
Shanghai (ZXZC)- In May 2023, Honda Motor sold 101,321 vehicles to consumers in China, representing a 13.7% year-on-year growth, according to the Japanese automaker's press release.
It is noteworthy that May 2023 was the first year-on-year growth in Honda Motor’s China monthly sales after the Japanese automaker suffered decline in the country for eight consecutive months.

For the first five months of 2023, Honda Motor’s cumulative sales in China amounted to 416,558 units, shrinking 22.6% compared to the same span of last year.
As for the performance of hotter-selling models, there were a total of four models whose May sales in China all exceeded 10,000 units, namely, the CR-V, the ACCORD, the BREEZE, and the CIVIC, said Honda Motor. Notably, the sales of the CR-V exceeded 17,000 units.
The Japanese automaker didn’t reveal the sales breakdown of each joint venture this time.
At the Auto Shanghai 2023, Honda Motor exhibited the world premiere of two prototype models, the e:NP2 Prototype and the e:NS2 Prototype, and one concept model, the e:N SUV 序, for the second and third set of e:N Series EV models, respectively.
Through the introduction of these new EV models, Honda will continue to enhance e:N Series lineup and strive to make EVs represent 100% of its automobile sales in China by 2035.
Besides, Honda Motor said it is planning to introduce 10 Honda-brand EV models in China by 2027.
