Bright spots of global legacy automakers at 5th CIIE

Shanghai (ZXZC)- At the 2022 China International Import Expo (CIIE), the largest import trade show in the world, global automakers showed off its growing allure to Chinese consumers through an exhibition of its compelling vehicles and technologies.

Tesla

Tesla once again owns a booth at the CIIE, for the 5th year in a row taking part in this splendid exhibition.

Tesla's all-new Model S Plaid, Model X Plaid, together with the company's humanoid robot (Tesla Bot prototype) were featured at the splendid Expo.

Moreover, the U.S.-based EV manufacturer also showcased the localized advances of its charging network in China.

Toyota Motor

At the 5th CIIE, Toyota orchestrated an exhibition in three sections, which are themed "environment", "smart transportation" and "Mobility for All", respectively.

Nissan Motor

The biggest move for Nissan Motor's CIIE journey is that the Japanese automaker announced the establishment of Nissan Mobility Service Co., Ltd., a dedicated mobility service company, as part of its efforts to continue transforming its business in China.

The new company, headquartered in Suzhou, will be committed to investing in mobility services and deploying robotaxi services. By working with the Suzhou High-Speed Rail New Town, it will support intelligent transport initiatives in the country.

WeRide, the Level 4 autonomous driving technology developer who has a successful mobility service history in Guangzhou, will provide technology support to Nissan's Suzhou project.

Honda Motor

Among the products showcased at Honda Motor's booth, the e:N2 Concept must assume the biggest significance.

Honda Motor premiered the e:N2 Concept, which is said to be the concept model for the second set of e:N Series models that will be exclusively sold in China through Dongfeng Honda and GAC Honda joint ventures.

Meanwhile, the Japanese automaker announced the launch of Honda SENSING 360, the company’s latest advanced driving assistance systems.

Hyundai Motor Group 

Hyundai Motor Group, who just celebrated its 20th anniversary for entering the Chinese market, showcased its cutting-edge technologies and innovative products at the 5th CIIE, which cover a slew of domains including hydrogen, electrification, imported vehicles, and future mobility.

Ford Motor

The exhibits Ford Motor prepared for the 5th CIIE include the F-150 Lighting all-electric pickup, the Ford Bronco SUV, the Mustang Mach-E all-electric crossover SUV, the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor, the all-new Ford Explorer, and the Lincoln Navigator One.

Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars

At the CIIE 2022, Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars displayed seven models across all of its four brands, including three new energy vehicle models.

BMW Group

The models displayed by BMW Group at the 5th CIIE are all full-electric vehicles, including the iX, the i4, and the i7.

Volkswagen Group

Volkswagen Group spotlighted five BEV models, including three production models and two full-electric concepts, across Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche brands.

Jaguar Land Rover

The two luxury car brands—Jaguar and Land Rover—together displayed eight imported vehicles models at this year’s CIIE.

Genesis

Genesis, the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai Motor, owns an independent booth at the CIIE, where the Genesis GV80, the G80, and the G70 are showcased.

Volvo Cars

Volvo Cars showcased several classis models and its latest NEV products at the CIIE 2022, including the Volvo V90 Cross Country, the Volvo XC 40 Recharge, the Volvo C 40 Recharge, the Volvo V60, and the Volvo XC90.
