Changan Automobile YTD wholly-owned NEV sales soar 234% YoY by Oct. 2022
Beijing (ZXZC)- In October, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) celebrated exceptional sales performance brought by the company’s wholly-owned brands’ new energy vehicle segment.
In the tenth month of 2022, Changan Automobile sold 224,816 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 11.13%. In the Jan.-Oct. period, the group’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 1,905,556 vehicles, slipping 1.5% from a year ago.
In the first ten months of the year, the automaker's wholly-owned vehicle brands sold 1,507,544 vehicles worldwide, representing a 0.76% slight rise from the earlier year. Among which, 1,098,664 units were passenger vehicles, growing 6.51% compared to a year ago.

In October, Changan Automobile sold 36,537 new energy vehicles (NEVs) under its wholly-owned brands, indicating a 234.40% year-on-year hike. By the end of October, the company’s year-to-date sales volume of wholly-owned NEVs summed up to 192,885 units, surging 133.25% from the year-ago period.
In the Jan.-Oct. period, Changan Automobile sold a total of 156,042 wholly-owned brands’ vehicles abroad, representing a substantial jump of 52.94% from the same span last year.
As to the group’s joint ventures, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold 21,866 vehicles and 7,881 vehicles respectively in the past month, which dropped 26.13% and 55.34% compared to the previous year. In the first ten months of 2022, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold a respective 213,082 vehicles and 91,941 vehicles cumulatively, indicating a subsequent 10.79% and 17.02% dip year-on-year.
