Great Wall Motor to roll out new models in the next two years
Beijing (ZXZC)- Great Wall Motor plans to roll out several new products in the coming two years, including some new energy vehicle models, the company told a local media. People close to the matter said that some new models will be built on the Lemon platform.
On July 20, Great Wall Motor officially announced its ambition to drive the transition to being a global mobility technology company. At the same time, the automaker launched three technology brands, dubbed Lemon, Tank, and Coffee Intelligence.

According to GWM’s definition, the Lemon is a global high-intelligence modular technology platform that boasts high performance, high safety, and lightweight technology. The Lemon platform boasts ultra-high scalability and diverse power adaptation capabilities.
From the very beginning of its development, the automaker has been taking various requirements of different vehicle types into account. So the platform can offer vehicles a wheelbase between 2650mm and 3005mm, vehicle length between 4200mm and 5100mm, vehicle width between 1830mm and 1975mm. Currently, the automaker makes numerous models on the platform, including, the third-generation Haval H6 and the Haval Dagou (Big Dog).
In September, Great Wall Motor sold a total of 117,800 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.89% while the cumulative sales of the first nine months reached 680,700 units. Thanks to the sales increase of the third-quarter, its quarterly revenue jumped 23.6% year on year to RMB26.21 billion while the net profit attributable to its parent company increased 2.9% year on year to RMB1.44 billion.
The platforms and the models built on them will enhance the company’s product competitiveness and help to cut the cost of vehicles. With new products in the next two years, the company may embrace new product cycle, which will boost its sales performance and net profits.
