NIO's monthly outputs reach 5,000 units for first time
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On October 29, NIO's 5,000th complete vehicle produced in this month rolled off the production line at the JAC-NIO Advanced Manufacturing Center, marking the startup's monthly outputs for the first time exceeded 5,000 units.

Founded in November 2014, NIO currently has three production models for sales, namely, the ES8, ES6 SUVs, and the EC6 coupe SUV. The startup delivered 4,708 vehicles in Sept. 2020, a new monthly record representing a strong 133.2% year-over-year growth. The deliveries consisted of 3,210 ES6s, 1,482 ES8s and 16 EC6s.
In the third quarter, NIO delivered a total of 12,206 vehicles, representing a growth of 154.3% year-over-year and exceeding the higher end of the Company's quarterly guidance. By the end of Sept., cumulative deliveries of the ES8, ES6 and EC6 reached 58,288 vehicles, of which 26,375 were delivered in 2020.
On October 9, NIO China's headquarters was officially put into operation in Hefei, capital of Anhui Province.
The EV startup said NIO China's businesses, including the complete vehicle R&D, supply chain, sale & service as well as NIO Power, are well underway. NIO and its contractual manufacturer JAC Motors have already initiated the expansion project of the JAC-NIO Advanced Manufacturing Center. Following the launch of NIO China's headquarters, NIO will expand its talent group in Hefei and strengthen its cooperation with local supply chain of the Anhui's capital.
The operation of NIO China's headquarters will help press ahead with the strategic cooperation between NIO and Hefei. “NIO China will strive to help Hefei's NEV industry engaged in global competition and assist Hefei with building a world-class industrial cluster,” said William Bin Li, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of NIO.
To consolidate Hefei's leadership in the field of intelligent vehicle-related charging and battery-swapping networks, NIO will work with Hefei Charge, a subsidiary of Hefei Construction Investment and Holding Co., Ltd., on popularizing and constructing battery swapping facilities. Both parties have to-day determined the locations for building 20 battery swapping stations, the first batch of facilities which are set to be launched in 2020 and 2021.
