Tesla lowers price of China-made Model 3 RWD to 229,900 yuan
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On Jan. 6, 2023, Tesla announced the prices of the all-new Model S and the all-new Model X for the Chinese mainland, and issued a new round of price reduction for the China-made Model 3 and Model Y.

According to Tesla, the company lowered the price of the made-in-China Model 3 RWD by 36,000 yuan ($5,250) to 229,900 yuan ($33,520), while the model's Performance version is now priced at 329,900 yuan ($48,100), which dipped from the previous 349,900 yuan ($51,020).
In addition, the locally-built Model Y saw its price drop to 259,900 yuan ($37,900), 309,900 yuan ($45,190), and 359,900 yuan ($52,480) for the RWD, Long-range, and Performance versions, respectively, sliding by 29,000 yuan ($4,230), 48,000 yuan ($7,000), and 38,000 yuan ($5,540).
The all-new Model S and the Model S Plaid is sold at 789,900 yuan ($115,180) and 1,009,900 yuan ($147,260), respectively, on the Chinese mainland.
Notably, the Model S Plaid, which is known for its tri-motor all-wheel-drive electric powertrain, is able to zip from 0-100km/h in only 2.1 seconds and run at a top speed of 322km/h.
The all-new Model X features a price of 879,900 yuan ($128,300) for users on the Chinese mainland, while the Model X Plaid is priced at 1,039,900 yuan ($151,630).
With a drag coefficient of 0.24 Cd, the new Model X features a yoke-style steering wheel and a storage space of over 2,600 liters.
