Li Auto’s L9 SUV’s patent images released
Shanghai (ZXZC)- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently released the patent images of Li Auto’s second mass-produced model, the L9.
Building on the startup's second REEV platform, the L9 is positioned as a full-sized SUV and will feature a price range of 450,000-500,000 yuan ($70,630-78,480). Li Auto said the yet-to-be-launched model will be “a global flagship smart SUV for family use”.

According to the patent images, the L9 features an uncluttered and futuristic exterior design. At the front, it adopts a split-type headlight design, which is composed of a full-width light strip at the edge of the bonnet and the LED projector headlamps located on the bumper. The closed-off grille design makes the L9 look like a BEV, but it is still a REEV. The only detail that disturbs the vehicle's smooth appearance is the LiDAR devices right above the front windshield.

Moreover, the L9 also has pop-out door handles, a subtle roof spoiler, and a rear light strip that stretches across the width of the SUV. The chrome-plated trims on the edge surrounding the windows elevate the luxury essence of the model.
The L9 measures 5,200 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,800 mm tall, and has a 3,105 mm wheelbase. Local media outlets reported that the 6- and 7-seater layouts will be available.
The L9 carries a range-extender powertrain that consists of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder direct-injection turbocharged gasoline engine with a Miller-cycle combustion. The model has a front-axle-mounted electric motor that is good for 130kW and a rear motor churning out up to 200kW. The AWD system delivers a combined peak torque of 620 N·m. It is supported by a 44.5kWh battery pack that enables a WLTC range of 175km on battery power alone. When the range-extender system cooperates with the battery pack, the L9 will be capable of a combined range of up to 1,315 km (CLTC).The vehicle can zip from standstill to 100km/h within 5.3 seconds.
