Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese EV startup WM Motor saw its product lineup further updated with the 2022 E.5 hitting the market on April 15. Coming with two trim levels, the new E.5 is priced between 180,100 yuan ($28,320) and 190,100 yuan ($29,900) after subsidies.

The E.5 firstly hit the market in September 2021, targeting business users and mobility service providers. The refreshed version shifts the main user base to private users.

The new E.5's exterior displays a striking resemblance to the previous version. It measures 4,718mm long, 1,838mm wide, and 1,535mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,810mm.

On the inside, both versions of the new E.5 will come standard with a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch dual-screen, the Living Mate smart cockpit system, and other amenities such as the driver's seat with 10-way power adjustment, heated and cooled front seats, and the air vents at back seats.

As for the facility for driving safety, the new E.5 will be armed with WM Motor's Living Pilot driver assistance system, which contains ACC (adaptive cruise control), AEB (autonomous emergency braking), FCW (forward collision warning), ESP (electronic stability program), AUTO HOLD, TCS (traction control system), and HHC (hill-start hold control) systems.

Powering the new E.5 is a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) that is good for up to 120kW and 240N·m, and features a range of 505km under the NEDC test cycle.

Moreover, the refreshed model is equipped with a liquid-cooled system to make sure that battery cells can work under an optimal temperature range, and the battery pack electric-heating system and dynamic regeneration system to further lift the vehicle's driving range.
