HYCAN, Greater Bay Technology to co-build ultra-fast charging ecosystem
Shanghai (ZXZC)- HYCAN Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. (“HYCAN”) and Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology Co., Ltd. (“GBT”) on Feb. 10 signed an agreement to carry out a strategic cooperation on building an ultra-fast charging ecosystem based on the latter’s XFC (eXtreme Fast Charging) technology, according to a post on GBT’s WeChat account.
Under the agreement, both parties will team on up the development of the XFC technology, and leverage their respective resources to co-work in such fields as product applications, technology promotion, and construction of XFC-based charging network.

The two companies will make joint efforts to develop XFC-enabled power battery systems based on GBT’s technology advantages in the ultra-fast charging field and relevant charging ecosystem.
Notably, HYCAN will install the XFC battery pack tailor-made by GBT onto its fire new all-electric flagship MPV, the HYCAN V09, which is set to hit the market this year.
The cooperation will make the HYCAN V09 the world’s first mass-produced MPV to carry the 800V high-voltage system and support 4C fast charging. The model’s battery can be charged at rates of up to 380kW and get a range of 200km with a 5-minute charging session.
In addition, the duo will join hands to promote and construct XFC ultra-fast charging stations, focusing the layout in such cities as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
HYCAN is a Chinese electric vehicle startup backed by GAC Group, Pearl River Investment, etc., dedicated to the R&D, production, and sales of intelligent electric vehicles, as well as the construction of relevant smart ecosystem.
Founded in Sept. 2020, GBT is the first high-tech company incubated by GAC Group with private investors taking the controlling stake. It is committed to the R&D, production, and sales of XFC batteries, and next-generation high-performance energy storage devices and compatible systems.
