Shanghai (ZXZC)- Great Wall Motor ("GWM") unveiled two new Haval-branded PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) models on Feb. 13 via its WeChat account, shortly after announcing the Chinese name of the Haval H-DOG, another PHEV model under the brand.

The newly unveiled two PHEV models, coded-named A07 and B07, respectively, have been included in a catalogue issued by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (“MIIT”). They will be mounted with the DHT-PHEV system and are set to hit the market this year.

The Haval A07 will be positioned as a compact SUV, which measures 4,600 long, 1,877mm wide, and 1,675mm tall, with a wheelbase that spans 2,710mm, according to data from the MIIT.

There are three tire size options available for the new model: 225/55R18, 225/60R18, and 225/55R19.

The MIIT’s patent images show that the Haval A07 will feature a sealed-off grille coupled with a diamond-patterned design and T-shaped headlights.

At the rear, the badge at the bottom left corner indicates that the A07 will be named as “RuGe” in Chinese Pinyin.

Powering the A07 will be a plug-in hybrid electric system composed of a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor. It will carry a 9.41kWh or a 19.27kWh ternary lithium battery pack, which enables a respective WLTC range of 45km and 96km on battery power alone.

The A07 SUV can run at a top speed of 175km/h.

The Haval B07, which is likely to be named “XiaoLong MAX” (“XiaoLong” is Chinese Pinyin), will be a mid-sized SUV with dimensions of 4,758mm (4,771mm) long, 1,895mm wide, and 1,725mm tall, as well as a 2,800-mm wheelbase. Its tire size is 235/55R19.

The B07’s front features a borderless grille design, coupled with sharper split-type headlights. According to the emblem at the rear, the new SUV is expected to be equipped with GWM's L.E.M.O.N DHT technology.

When running on battery power alone, the Haval B07 will have two WLTC range options—44km and 86km, thanks to a 9.41kWh and 19.27kWh (19.94kWh) ternary lithium battery pack from Gotion High-Tech, respectively.

The B07 is designed with a maximum running speed of 180km/h.
