Car and City: Nov. insurance registrations of locally-made VW ID. vehicles in China
Beijing (ZXZC)- Insurance registrations of China-made Volkswagen (VW) ID. series amounted to 13,131 vehicles in November, jumping 37% from the previous month as all the five models from the series managed to realize month-over-month growth, according to data of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).
By the end of November, the market had registered a total of 45,860 locally-made ID. vehicles. The volume of the ID.4 X and the ID.4 CROZZ were very close, nearly 16,000 each.
Among those ID. vehicles registered last month, 2,143 were for renting and leasing while the other 10,988 were for non-operational purpose. Thanks to the volume of renting-used vehicles, Zhengzhou registered the most ID. vehicles in November. Among the 1,978 ID. vehicles registered in the provincial capital of Henan, 1,643 were registered for renting and leasing and 1,016 were the ID.4 CROZZs.
The registrations of the ID.3 surged from 472 in October to 2,261 in November. Apart from Shanghai, the volume of other cities was under 100 units. Out of the top 5 cities list, only Hangzhou registered over 50 ID.3s (at 56) last month.
As for the ID.4 CROZZ, four cities had registration volume over 100 units and only Zhengzhou’s volume surpassed 1,000 vehicles.
Shanghai, where the ID.4 X is produced, had the highest registration volume of the model in November. Beijing, Quzhou of Zhejiang province, Suzhou of Jiangsu province also had three-digit ID.4 X monthly registrations.
As for the ID.6 X, four cities registered over 100 vehicles last month while others’ respective volume was less than 50 units.
The ID.6 CROZZ had better performance in November. Zhengzhou registered 691 ID.6 CROZZs last month, 627 of which were for renting and leasing.
