China has 2.385 million EV charging piles by Nov. 2021

Shanghai (ZXZC)- By the end of Nov. 2021, there were 2.385 million charging piles deployed across China, up 55% from the same period of last year, according to the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (EVCIPA).

For the first eleven months this year, a total of 704,000 charging piles (+120.3%) were newly built in China, including 284,000 public piles (+59.1% YoY) and 420,000 private ones (+198.1% YoY).

The number of public charging piles in the country added up to 1.092 million by the end of Nov. 2021, including 450,000 DC piles, 646,000 AC piles, and 406 DC-AC integrated charging piles, the EVCIPA said after compiling the data reported by members of the alliance.

There were around 33,000 public charging poles newly deployed per month on average during one year ended Nov. 2021.

As of Nov. 2021, a total of 71,500 charging stations have been deployed in China, rising from 70,500 launched by the end of Oct. In terms of the volume of charging stations, the top five provinces or direct-administered municipalities were Guangdong (11,290), Jiangsu (6,477), Zhejiang (5,838), Beijing (5,761), and Shanghai (5,718). The top 10 rankings remained same as that of Oct.

Regarding the amount of charging stations by Nov. 2021, the top three operators were still TELD (16,544), State Grid (16,036), and Star Charge (9,053). According to the EVCIPA's data, EV manufacturers, NIO and Tesla, had deployed 551 and 364 charging stations respectively by Nov.

As of Nov. 2021, China had a total of 1,192 battery swap stations, 106 of which were newly built last month. By the volume of battery swap stations, the top three provinces in China (or direct-administered municipalities) were Beijing (245), Guangdong (164) and Zhejiang (112).

The top three battery swap station operators in China were still NIO (701), Aulton (384), and Hangzhou First Technology (107) in terms of the station number by November.
