Dongfeng Fengxing PV sales plummet 25% YoY

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Dongfeng Fengxing, a brand of Dongfeng Motor Group’s subsidiary company Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd (Dongfeng Liuzhou), delivered a total of around 24,000 vehicles in January 2018. Its January sales of PVs reached over 20,000 units, slumping 25% from a year earlier.

Dongfeng Liuzhou has set an annual sales target for Dongfeng Fengxing of 330,000 vehicles this year. Meanwhile, the automaker plans to roll out 3 MPV models and 2 SUV models under the brand in 2018.

It is noteworthy that Dongfeng Fengxing was ambitious to sell 400,000 vehicles in 2017, surging 53% compared with 2016. However, its only completed 57.5% of the initial target with an annual sales of some 230,000 units last year. The 2018 sales goal looks more achievable than the previous year.

Dongfeng Fengxing aims to hand over 160,000 units of SUVs and MPVs respectively. Besides, the automaker set a sales goal of 10,000 units for new energy vehicles, according to Yao Liwen, vice general manager of Dongfeng Liuzhou.

As to the model planning, Dongfeng Fengxing plans to release 5 new models in the second half this year, including the new generation Joyear X5, the 7-seat SUV Joyear X7, an all-new subcompact SUV, the refreshed F600A and the refreshed F700A. In addition, the automaker set a blueprint to launch the compact family sedan Joyear S50, the compact SUV Joyear X3, the 7-seat SUV Joyear X6 and the entry-level family MPV S500 as well as the MPV Lingzhi 2019 version.

Last year, Dongfeng Fengxing rolled out a total of 10 new models, such as Joyear X5, Joyear X6 and Joyear S50. Nevertheless, the company still had not accomplished its sales target and even suffered a sales decrease for the first time over the past decade.
