Changan Automobile posts 19.37% YoY jump in Jan.-Feb. sales
In February 2024, Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) sold 152,704 vehicles in total, representing a 20.05% downturn from a year ago.
Among the vehicles sold last month, 23,226 units were new energy vehicles under Changan Automobile’s wholly-owned brands, which rose 12.87% year over year. DEEPAL, the company’s new energy vehicle brand, sold 9,994 vehicles worldwide in February. Meanwhile, AVATR, the premium new energy vehicle brand jointly supported by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, delivered 2,457 vehicles last month.

In the first two months of this year, Changan Automobile’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 433,071 vehicles, jumping 19.37% from a year ago. Cumulative sales of the automaker’s wholly-owned brands summed up to 368,088 units, growing 18.96% over the previous year. Among which, 75,661 vehicles were sold in overseas markets to reflect a 106.19% spike from the same period in 2023.
The automaker’s two joint ventures, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda, posted a respective 16.33% year-on-year increase and a 66.91% year-over-year surge in Jan.-Feb. sales, which came in at 34,128 units and 13,164 units each.
