SAIC Motor faces 25.92% YoY drop in June auto sales
Beijing (ZXZC)- In June, SAIC Motor sold a total of 300,545 vehicles, marking a year-on-year drop of 25.92%. Of the vehicles sold in the past month, 93,422 units were new energy vehicles (NEVs), up 8.8% from a year ago, according to the company’s report.
In June 2024, SAIC Motor’s sales overseas amounted to 81,223 vehicles (including export volume and sales created by its overseas bases), which dipped 14.47% from that of the previous year.
In the first half of this year, SAIC Motor’s cumulative sales came in at 1,826,954 vehicles, indicating a 11.81% decrease year-on-year.
Among SAIC Motor’s sub-brands, IM Motors, the premium electric vehicle brand co-owned with Alibaba Group and Zhangjiang High-Tech, sold 5,200 vehicles, representing a 159.09% year-on-year soar.

In the past month, SAIC-GM again posted the steepest year-on-year decline after May, with sales tumbling 72.02% to 26,021 units. Meanwhile, SAIC-GM-Wuling saw its monthly sales notch down 4.46% from a year ago to 107,000 units in June. SAIC MOTOR Passenger Vehicle Company and SAIC Maxus saw a respective 24.62% and 19.06% year-on-year decrease in June sales, which stood at 54,576 and 15,020 vehicles.
