Since November 2023, the Luxeed S7 has faced difficulties in delivery due to reasons including factory relocation, chip shortages, high order volume, and low yield rate. Rumors of challenges in cooperation between Chery and Huawei have circulated within the industry, although both parties have repeatedly denied such claims.

On March 15, Yu Chengdong responded publicly, attributing delays in the mass production and launch of the Luxeed S7 to factory relocation and chip supply shortages, with full recovery expected by April.

Aside from updates regarding the Luxeed S7, he further disclosed that the all-new AITO M7, the SUV model developed in collaboration with SERES, received over 174,000 units of fixed orders within 7 months upon its market launch.

In the first quarter of 2024, the AITO M7 was the most-sold new energy vehicle model among all models made by Chinese new energy vehicle startups, said AITO. Moreover, the AITO M9, hitting the market three months ago, has accumulated over 70,000 units of fixed orders, with monthly delivery capacity steadily rising to over 25,000 units.
