Geely Automobile achieves highest-ever monthly export volume in Mar. 2024

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited ("Geely Automobile" and "the Group") sold 150,835 vehicles in March 2024, a year-on-year growth of around 39% compared to the year-ago period, according to the Group's latest monthly sales results.

Of the vehicles Geely Automobile sold last month, 44,791 units were new energy vehicles, representing a robust 65.3% leap from the previous year. To be specific, the sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) climbed 14% over a year earlier to 28,435 units, while the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) unit logged a sales volume of 16,356 units, which zoomed up 661% from the year-ago period.

In addition, Geely Automobile reported an export volume of 36,405 vehicles for the month of March 2024, which shot up 81% over the prior-year period and hit a record high level on a monthly basis. 

Breaking down the Group's Mar. sales by specific brands, the Geely brand saw its sales jump 34% over a year earlier to 118,152 units, including 10,185 units under the new energy vehicle range Galaxy. The premium electric vehicle brand ZEEKR scored a remarkable YoY spike of 95% with 13,012 vehicles delivered in the month. Moreover, Lynk & Co sold 19,671 vehicles, displaying a YoY jump of 40%.

For the first quarter of this year, Geely Automobile boasted a 49% surge from a year earlier in its year-to-date sales, which stood at 475,720 units. Of those, 144,125 units were contributed by the new energy vehicle sector, exhibiting a 143% YoY soar. As for overseas business, the Group reported an export volume of 87,040 vehicles for this quarter, indicating a remarkable surge of 66% year-on-year.
