Great Wall Motor posts 2-digit YoY growth in NEV, overseas sales in Mar. 2024

Shanghai (ZXZC)- In March 2024, Great Wall Motor ("GWM") showcased an impressive performance, with sales reaching 100,276 units, marking an 11.02% year-on-year increase. These figures contributed to a year-to-date sales volume of 275,333 units, which jumped 25.11% from a year earlier.

Of noteworthy mention are the remarkable achievements in the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector and overseas markets. In March, GWM's NEV sales soared 66.34% over a year ago to 21,882 units. Meanwhile, its overseas sales surged to 35,815 units, marking an impressive year-on-year growth rate of 60.66%.

Additionally, GWM's diverse portfolio of brands exhibited commendable sales figures in March. HAVAL, GWM's SUV-dedicated brand, recorded sales of 54,055 units in March, representing a year-on-year growth of 13.99%. Notably, the HAVAL Menglong model, equipped with the Hi4 intelligent four-wheel-drive hybrid technology, is emerging as a popular choice in the new energy off-road SUV segment.

The WEY brand experienced a remarkable surge in sales, reaching 3,608 units in March, marking a staggering year-on-year spike of 182.98%. It's worth mentioning that the brand scored a 182.34% year-on-year hike in its Jan.-Mar. sales, which stood at 9,608 units.

Similarly, TANK secured its position as the leading off-road SUV brand in the China's market with sales of 18,953 units in March, up by 58.6% compared to the previous year. Notably, TANK achieved a cumulative sales figure of 49,184 units from January to March, reflecting a remarkable growth rate of 103.16%.

ORA, GWM's NEV-focused brand, achieved sales of 6,022 units in March and a cumulative sales figure of 15,029 units for the first three months of the year.

Great Wall Pickup maintained its dominance in the Chinese pickup market, with sales of 17,569 units in March and a year-to-date sales figure of 43,495 units.
