In a strategic move to allow Lei Jun to focus more on the automotive business, Xiaomi has appointed Lu Weibing, the Group's President, as the Xiaomi Brand General Manager. Lu Weibing will also take the lead in Xiaomi smartphone launches, starting with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Lei Jun emphasizes that the smartphone business remains Xiaomi's core focus, with continued dedicated efforts.

Reportedly, the Xiaomi SU7 electric vehicle model is set to enter the Start of Production (SOP) phase in mid-to-late February, initiating mass production. The initial monthly production plan for March targets around 2,000 units, with production capacity expected to climb steadily by mid-2024, reaching over 10,000 units in July.

Industry attention is primarily on Xiaomi's car pricing. As of January 30, sources disclosed that the high-end version of the Xiaomi SU7 has an insurance registration price of 361,400 yuan. The model features CATL's ternary lithium battery, offering a top speed of 265 km/h.

Responding to the price disclosure, Xiaomi's PR Manager, Wang Hua, clarified on social media that recent internal vehicle registration is part of testing and validating the entire sales process, including registration and insurance. He emphasized that the disclosed price is purely internal.
