SAIC Motor's auto wholesales in Jan. 2022 jump 13% YoY
SAIC Motor saw its monthly new vehicle wholesale volume jump 13.02% year on year to about 455,552 units in Jan. 2022, the biggest Chinese auto group announced on Thursday via its WeChat account.
As for the bright spots for joint ventures' performance, SAIC Motor highlighted the 51.7% year-on-year surge in Jan. wholesales of SAIC Volkswagen.

SAIC Motor Passager Vehicle Company “SAIC Motor PV” SAIC Motor's self-owned PV subsidiary, sold around 67,564 vehicles last month, representing an 18.02% growth from a year earlier. Notably, the monthly sales of the Roewe RX5, the Roewe i5, the MG ZS, and the MG5 all surpassed 10,000 units.
SAIC Maxus scored a 25.2% year-on-year increase with 21,037 vehicles sold last month.
In Jan. 2022, SAIC Motor sold 72,236 units new energy vehicles NEVs a 25.54% growth compared to the year-ago period. To be specific, about 15,000 and 9,000 NEVs were sold by SAIC Motor PV and SAIC Volkswagen respectively, while SAIC-GM recorded a NEV sales volume of over 4,000 units.
Moreover, SAIC Motor also announced a 74.4% robust year-on-year increase in its Jan. overseas sales, which stood at 65,429 units. Up until now, the auto group has launched products and services in more than 80 countries and regions around the world.
