According to a local media outlet, DPCA will be sustained as a manufacturing base, with the current stock structure. Meanwhile, the two brands, Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroën, will be led by their parents, PSA and Dongfeng Motor Corporation, respectively. Relevant executives from the joint venture told the media that the two shareholders are currently under negotiation. The company’s equity framework will be left untouched, while certain changes will happen among internal business divisions.

In addition, DPCA sold over 100,000 vehicles in 2021, representing a 100% jump from a year ago. Dongfeng Citroën managed a 137% surge in its annual sales during the year, while Dongfeng Peugeot’s annual sales increased 74%.

Official records showed that the DPCA currently has 15 models on the market from both brands. However, in 2021, only two models of the entire lineup sold over 10,000 vehicles, both are from Dongfeng Citroën. To be specific, the Versailles C5X sold 12,100 vehicles, and the C5 AIRCROSS sold 10,600 vehicles.
