The initiative involves collaborative efforts between Dongfeng's R&D Institute and the Xiangyang Da An Automobile Test Center, forming an engineering team. This team will be split into two units, embarking on extensive on-site adaptability trials in both the European Union and the Middle East.
The comprehensive trial, expected to conclude by late March, aims to establish a robust foundation for the subsequent overseas export of the Mengshi 917.
In the EU region, representative nations such as Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, among others, will serve as testing grounds. The routes cover diverse terrains including mountains, coastlines, and urban areas, simulating real-life commuting, daily activities, intercity travels, and long-distance journeys typically undertaken by local users.
Meanwhile, testing in the Middle East region encompasses countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait, characterized by typical hot desert climates. The trial routes cover desert landscapes, urban centers, coastal areas, and mountainous regions, meticulously considering scenarios such as prolonged idling with air conditioning, refueling without engine shutdown, and extended high-speed drives across deserts, reflecting local user driving habits.
The engineering team will meticulously evaluate key user-centric metrics such as intelligent driving, navigation, charging compatibility, range, and power performance across various usage scenarios. Additionally, the reliability of roads will be assessed to test the vehicle's stability and adaptability in different conditions and environments, totaling a testing distance of 15,000 kilometers per vehicle.
