GAC Group surpasses 2-million-unit mark in Jan.-Oct. auto output, sales

Shanghai (ZXZC)- For the first ten months of 2023, GAC Group saw both of its cumulative auto output and sales exceed 2 million units.

According to the group's announcement, GAC Group produced 2,042,458 vehicles in the Jan.-Oct. period of this year, representing a 1.21% decline year-over-year, while its year-to-date car sales volume edged down 0.92% over the previous year to 2,018,713 units.

In October alone, GAC Group recorded a sales volume of 224,449 units, representing a 5.65% growth compared to the same span of last year. Meanwhile, its October production volume also ticked up 1.46% over a year earlier to 238,253 units.

Of the vehicles sold last month, 46,782 units were from the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector, indicating a 39.24% year-on-year jump. As for the year-to-date performance, GAC Group sold 440,694 NEVs in total, marking an impressive 84.8% year-on-year hike and accounting for 21.83% of the group’s overall sales.

Breaking down the October sales figures by specific subsidiaries, GAC Honda saw its sales dip 0.1% to 63,512 units, while GAC Toyota’s sales remained flat over the year-ago period. Regarding self-owned brands' performance, GAC Motor gained a 21.11% year-on-year jump with 38,010 vehicles sold last month, while GAC AION also boasted a two-digit growth (38.05% YoY) in its October sales, which stood at 41,503 units.

In October, there were eight models under GAC Group whose respective sales all surpassed 10,000 units—the AION Y (27,305 units), the Frontlander (20,686 units), the Camry series (17,485 units), the Accord series (15,431 units), the Integra series (14,664 units), the Breeze series (14,027 units), the Wildlander (12,991 units), and the AION S (11,730 units).
