Great Wall Motor scores 7.03% YoY growth in July 2023 auto sales

Shanghai (ZXZC)- In July of this year, Great Wall Motor ("GWM") sold 109,091 new vehicles, representing a 7.03% year-on-year growth, according to the company's latest monthly sales results.

Of the vehicles sold last month, 28,920 units were new energy vehicles ("NEVs"), which accounted for 26.51% of the company’s total auto sales.

Additionally, GWM saw its sales for overseas markets soar to 27,007 units in July, marking an outstanding 83.60% surge compared to the same period last year. This is the fifth consecutive month that GWM surpassed the 20,000-unit mark in overseas sales.

The iconic Haval brand scored a 2.75% year-on-year rise in its July sales, which stood at 62,967 units. Its NEV sales amounted to 10,105 units in the month, for the second month in straight to surpass 10,000 units.

As for new product updates, the Haval NEV’s Dragon Series welcomed a new member officially named "Haval Menglong," (translated to “Fierce Dragon”), which is set to hit the market in September. The new Haval H5’s first mass-produced vehicles have already rolled off the production line. Besides, the 2024 Haval Big Dog went on sale on July 25.

The WEY recorded a monthly sales volume of 6,652 vehicles in July. The WEY VV7 Blue Mountain model recorded a sales volume of 5,566 units last month, which resulted in a cumulative volume of 17,258 since its market launch.

Meanwhile, the NEV-dedicated ORA brand sold 10,116 vehicles in July, a notable 14.58% year-on-year growth.

The TANK brand saw its July sales climb 8.15% from the previous year to 13,490 units. Of those, the TANK 500 Hi4-T contributed 2,023 units to the brand’s total sales.

Great Wall Pick-up sold 15,841 units last month, a 2.85% decrease compared to the previous year. However, its year-to-date sales still grew 6.97% over a year ago to 118,437 units.
