Beijing (ZXZC)- According to insiders, a foreign company is currently engaged in discussions with Chinese new energy vehicle startup Leapmotor regarding a potential technology collaboration, with substantial progress already made, a local media outlet said.

If successful, Leapmotor will become the first among Chinese new energy vehicle companies to export its technology overseas.
In response to this news, ZXZC sought confirmation from relevant officials at Leapmotor, but as of press time, no response has been received. Should these reports prove accurate, technology exports could become Leapmotor's second source of profit, in addition to its vehicle sales.
Leapmotor made its foray into the international market in 2022 when it exported its first batch of T03 vehicles to Israel in September, followed by the establishment of overseas stores in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Ramat Gan Ayalon Shopping Center in November.
In 2023, Leapmotor plans to gradually expand its global network in regions such as Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, continuously broadening its presence in overseas markets, further accelerating its global strategic deployment, and facilitating the pace of overseas deliveries.
From its inception, Leapmotor has firmly adhered to a self-reliant development approach, establishing an in-house R&D team to continuously innovate and develop core technologies in intelligent power, intelligent driving, and smart cockpits. This has led to a comprehensive and vertically integrated self-reliance, fortifying their competitive edge.
In March this year, Leapmotor's founder and chairman, Zhu Jiangming, revealed that approximately 70% of the company's vehicle costs are from in-house development.
This year, Leapmotor will continue to expand its product portfolio. The C01 extended-range model is scheduled for release in the third quarter, while a new SUV built on a fresh platform is expected to debut in September and go into mass production by year-end. Additionally, the brand's new models in the latter half of the year will feature a centralized electronic architecture, supporting Leapmotor's quest for greater breakthroughs in the future.
