Beijing (ZXZC)- On May 21, the Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation held a agreement signing ceremony with Beijing Baidu Netcom Science Technology Co., Ltd. (Baidu Netcom) in Jinan city, where they formed a strategic cooperation on strengthening the construction of a transportation powerhouse.

Through this cooperation, both parties will integrate their respective advantageous resources and jointly promote the innovative application of new-generation information technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence in the field of transportation. 

They aim to enhance the research and development of key technologies, support the rapid development of Shandong Province's digital transportation industry, and accelerate the construction of a demonstration zone for a transportation powerhouse in Shandong.

The cooperation will focus on two main areas. Firstly, the duo will explore digital transportation technology innovations, engage in R&D activities related to digital transportation and smart transportation technologies, actively participate in national and provincial scientific research projects, jointly develop and promote advanced smart transportation technologies. This will facilitate the deep integration of advanced information technologies with Shandong's transportation industry and fully support the construction of a high-level transportation powerhouse province.

Secondly, leveraging the abundant resources of Baidu’s navigation application, Baidu Maps, the Department and Baidu Netcom will jointly explore the creation of typical innovative application scenarios for smart transportation. This will facilitate the integrated and comprehensive optimization of transportation and logistics services throughout the entire supply chain, enhance the societal capabilities of transportation and logistics services, and promote the high-quality development of digital transportation in Shandong Province.
