Yueda Kia scores YoY, MoM growth in Apr. 2023 sales
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Yueda Kia, the joint venture between South Korean auto manufacturer Kia and its Chinese partner Jiangsu Yueda Group, announced its China and overseas automobile sales totaled 9,835 units in Apr. 2023, representing a 72.5% year-on-year surge and a 2.4% month-on-month growth.
For the first four months of this year, Yueda Kia exported 14,167 vehicles in total, which leapt 55.8% from the previous year.
The automaker said the significant increase in sales not only demonstrates the effectiveness of Kia's brand transition, but also showcases Kia's unwavering determination to deepen its presence in the Chinese market.

Yueda Kia announced the New Kia strategy last year to better meet Chinese consumers’ mobility demands, with its branding tactics, products, sales channels, services, and marketing quality all upgraded.
Under the New Kia strategy, Kia continues to strengthen its alignment with the global market in China and accelerate the introduction of popular global vehicle models. In November last year, not only did Kia introduce its global flagship SUV, the Sportage, to the Chinese market, but it also upgraded the model based on the global top-spec version, with three powertrain options offered, namely, 1.5T+8AT, 2.0T+8AT, and 2.0L+6AT (HEV). Following that, the all-new Kia K3 hit the Chinese market in February this year. At the just-concluded Auto Shanghai 2023, Yueda Kia put the Kia Seltos compact SUV onto the market.
Besides, to better satisfy the demand of Chinese consumers for electric vehicles, Kia released its China-dedicated mid-to-long-term new energy strategy blueprint in March this year, kicking off a new journey towards electrification.
