Li Auto to launch BEV-dedicated solution at Auto Shanghai 2023
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On April 6th, Li Auto announced that it will launch its power solution dedicated to full-electric vehicles at the forthcoming Auto Shanghai 2023 on Apr. 18, indicating the Chinese new energy vehicle startup will begin implementing a two-pronged strategy in terms of power solutions.
The company’s current models on sale are all range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs), but it has been laying out plans for battery electric vehicle (BEV) models. According to the information previously released, Li Auto is developing two BEV-dedicated platforms, named Whale (W platform) and Shark (S platform), respectively.

The company disclosed that it plans to launch two high-voltage pure electric vehicle models to the market each year starting from 2023, and its BEV product lineup will feature a price range of 200,000 yuan to 500,000 yuan.
In addition, to achieve high-voltage ultra-fast charging capability, Li Auto will be laying out its strategies in 4C batteries, SiC (silicon carbide) technology application, thermal management systems, and 400kW high-power charging networks.
At a media communication event in the spring of this year, Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, mentioned the latest progress in the development of high-voltage charging technology. He noted that Li Auto's self-developed 800V SiC technology can achieve a charging efficiency of 400-km range in 10 minutes, which can save about 15% of electricity compared with that of the 400V.
