Geely Auto Holdings celebrates over 700% YoY soar in Feb. NEV sales
In the second month of 2022, China’s major auto player, Geely Automobile Holdings Limited Geely Auto saw its monthly sales volume edging up 2% year over year, the automaker announced on March 7th.
In February, the auto group sold a total of 78,478 vehicles, up 2% from a year ago. Meanwhile, the company disclosed that the sales volume of this month dropped 46% from January due to the ESP chip shortage and the Chinese New Year Holiday.
During the first two months of 2022, the cumulative sales volume of Geely Auto amounted to 186,253 vehicles, notching down 5% from the previous year.
Specifically, its Geely brand sold 63,420 vehicles in February, down 3% year on year. However, with 7,705 vehicles sold, the group’s all-electric sub-brand, Geometry, celebrated an 863% soar from 2021.
Geely Auto’s global-oriented jointly owned brand, Lynk&Co, sold 10,524 vehicles, representing an 11% year-on-year decline.
In February, the automaker’s high-end EV brand, ZEEKR, delivered 2,916 units of its only model, the ZEEKR 001, decreasing 17.39% from the first month of this year. The cumulative delivery volume of the brand summed up to 6,446 vehicles in 2022.
Moreover, Geely Auto and Lifan Auto’s jointly owned brand, Livan Auto, sold 1,618 vehicles in the month, staying put from a month ago.
In the second month of 2022, Geely Auto’s new energy vehicle sector saw a 713% soar from a year ago, with 14,285 sold.
Lastly, the auto group’s overseas performance is also boast-worthy. With 9,851 exported, the company managed a 35% jump in export volume in February.
