GAC Group said on Monday it sold 143,464 new vehicles in February 2022, representing a 36.47% jump from the year-ago period.

As of Feb. 2022, the auto group had scored a year-on-year growth in monthly sales for four consecutive months.

Of the new vehicles sold last month, 10,478 and 25,410 units were new energy and energy-saving vehicles, up 166.68% and 142.44% from the previous year.

For the month of February, production volume of the Guangzhou-headquartered group surged 46.16% year on year to 151,919 units, including 10,357 new energy vehicles +182.05% YoY) and 28,318 energy-saving vehicles +149.76%).

Except GAC FCA, other subsidiaries all scored year-on-year growth in Feb. 2022 sales. GAC Honda topped others by selling 57,102 vehicles, while GAC AION was the fastest-growing one.

For the first two months of 2022, GAC Group output and sold 370,532 and 380,696 new vehicles, showing a year-on-year increase of 25.28% and 18.06% respectively.

The new energy vehicle sector boasted a 121.35% and 130.99% growth over a year earlier in year-to-date outputs and sales.

As for this year's cumulative sales, only GAC FCA and GAC Mitsubishi recorded downshift.
