Dongfeng Motor Group’s Feb. 2023 sales recover MoM

Beijing (ZXZC)- In February 2023, Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (Dongfeng Motor Group) sold 154,197 vehicles, indicating a turnaround from the sales plunge last month.

Comparing to the sales performance of Dongfeng Motor Group in the previous month and year, it witnessed a respective 42.66% hike but a 24.96% decline in February 2023. In the first two months of this year, the group’s cumulative sales volume reached 262,285 vehicles, which was still 48.48% less than that of a year ago.

In the passenger vehicle sector, Dongfeng Motor Group sold 123,948 vehicles in February, down 31.93% from the previous year. Among which, 12,601 units of the passenger cars sold last month were new energy vehicles, accounting for 10.16% of the total volume. 

In the Jan.-Feb. period, the group sold 216,774 passenger vehicles in total, representing a 51.3% decrease year-on-year. 

Sepcifically, the group’s premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, VOYAH, delivered 1,107 vehicles in February, which zoomed up 49.59% over the prior year. In the first two months of 2023, VOYAH’s cumulative delivery volume summed up to 2,655 vehicles, up 15.79% year over year. 

As to the group’s joint ventures, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën sold 5,425 vehicles in the past month, indicating a 28.92% decline over a year ago. By the end of February, the Sino-French joint venture’s year-to-date sales volume amounted to 10,690 vehicles, almost halved from the prior-year period. 

Meanwhile, Dongfeng Nissan (including Nissan, Venucia, and Infiniti brands) sold 66,429 vehicles last month to reflect a 22.64% decrease compared to the same month of 2022. From January to February, the joint venture’s cumulative sales volume summed up to 101,266 vehicles, plunging 52.51% year on year.

Lastly, Dongfeng Honda’s monthly sales were confronted with a 47.25% year-on-year drop in February, which came in at 31,325 vehicles. In the first two months of this year, the joint venture sold 61,841 vehicles in total, which fell 54.78% from the same period last year.
