Shanghai (ZXZC)- smart, the battery-electric vehicle (BEV) brand backed by Mercedes-Benz and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, introduced a few days ago a new entry-level trim to the smart #1 for the Chinese market, the smart #1 Pro.

The smart #1 Pro features a guidance price of 179,000 yuan ($25,910) and is expected to hit the market in mid-March with its delivery time to be disclosed then.

Compared to the existing version, the overall design of the new trim has not changed. In the front, the smart #1 Pro adopts triangular headlights on both sides, which are connected by a slender light strip. Above the front bumper are large-sized intakes, which are flanked by two smaller air intakes.

Viewed from the side of the car body, the smart #1 Pro features the trendy two-tone body design, and is equipped with frameless doors and pop-out door handles. It's worth noting that the Mercedes-Benz emblem can be found near the B-pillar, while the smart logo is placed on the C-pillar.

At the rear, the new vehicle features a taillight cluster with a similar style to that of the headlights, delivering a strong recognition when lit up.

The smart #1 Pro measures 4,270mm long, 1,822mm wide, 1,636mm tall, with a wheelbase that spans 2,750mm.

The vehicle carried a permanent magnet synchronous motor that pumps out up to 200kW and 343 N·m, and can zip from 0-100km/h within 6.7 seconds. Powering the vehicle is a 49kWh LFP battery pack, which enables a CLTC-rated range of 400km.
