Geely Automobile sees monthly auto sales leap 39% YoY in Feb. 2023

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (“Geely Automobile”) announced on Monday its monthly sales reached 108,701 units in Feb. 2023, leaping around 39% from the previous year, while also rising 5% from the previous month.

Of the vehicles the automaker sold last month, 23,283 units were new energy vehicles (NEVs), including 21,289 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and 1,994 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). The NEV sector scored a 63% year-on-year soar and a 111% month-on-month surge in Feb. 2023 sales.

For the first two months of this year, Geely Automobile saw its cumulative sales slide 6% from a year earlier to 212,153 units. Its year-to-date NEV sales came in at 34,314 units, dropping 6.78% from a year ago.

Besides, Geely Automobile announced a monthly export volume of 17,522 vehicles (+78% YoY) for the month of Feb., resulting in a Jan.-Feb. volume of 32,627 units (+37% YoY).

As for performance of specific brands, the Geely brand sold 90,333 vehicles last month to win a 42% year-on-year hike. Under the brand, there were 15,237 units from the BEV-dedicated Geometry series, reflecting a 98% spike compared to the same span of last year.

The premium EV brand ZEEKR saw its Feb. deliveries zoom up 87% year over year to 5,455 units. As of Feb. 2023, there had already been 86,519 ZEEKR-branded vehicles delivered across China.

With 12,090 vehicles sold, Lynk & Co boasted a 15% year-on-year increase in Feb. 2023 sales. Notably, a total of 2,432 units Lynk & Co-branded vehicles were delivered to its subscription customers in the European market under its innovative subscription model.
