BYD sees auto sales in Feb. 2023 grow YoY, MoM
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD Company Limited (“BYD”) announced on Wednesday that its monthly auto sales reached 193,655 units in Feb. 2023, rocketing 112.63% from the previous year.
Compared to the previous month, BYD also saw its Feb. auto sales jump 27.96%.
For the first two months of this year, BYD sold a total of 344,996 vehicles, representing a 84.98% year-on-year surge.
Vehicle sales for the month of Feb. 2023 were composed of 191,664 passenger vehicles (PVs) and 1,991 commercial vehicles (CVs), which zoomed up 119.11% and 145.8% year on year, respectively.
Of the passenger vehicles sold last month, 15,002 units were exported to overseas markets, reflecting a year-on-year surge of 112.3%.

As for powertrain solutions, sales of battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) of the PV unit came in at 90,639 units and 101,025 units last month, shooting up 109.94% and 128.05% over the year-ago period.
The latest monthly results also show that BYD scored a 28.3% month-on-month increase in the combined sales of its Dynasty and Ocean series in Feb. 2023. Besides, a total of 7,325 vehicles sold last month were under the DENZA brand, reflecting a 13.8% rise from the previous month.
The installed capacity of NEV power battery and energy storage battery of BYD was approximately 8.952GWh for the month of Feb. 2023, said the company.
