In the past month, SERES Group sold 10,556 vehicles in total, representing a 49.16% decline year-over-year.

January includes the national Chinese Lunar New Year holidays, which is usually considered a weak phase of the domestic auto market. Like many other automakers in China, SERES Group’s monthly sales were also affected by the holidays.

On the other hand, with 4,885 vehicles sold, the group’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sector achieved a 38.78% year-over-year spike in January sales, which is consistent to the company’s performance throughout the past year where NEV sales continued to grow.

Specifically, a total of 4,490 NEVs sold in the past month were from SERES Auto, which owns two brands (SERES and AITO), skyrocketing 445.57% compared to the year-ago period. Aside from sales, production volume of SERES Auto also shot up 293.95% over the previous year to 4,751 vehicles in January 2023.
