Chery Holding sees 2022 annual sales, revenue hit new high

Beijing (ZXZC)- Chery Holding announced on January 6 its sales volume came in at 105,483 vehicles in Dec. 2022, which resulted in an annual sales volume of 1,232,727 vehicles (+28.2% YoY).

In the past year, the automaker's remarkable performance brought the company over 200 billion yuan ($29.19 billion) in annual revenue, which is the highest-ever number in Chery's 25 years of development. 

Specifically, the Chery brand sold 908,553 vehicles in 2022, representing a 38.3% surge year-over-year. With 51,142 vehicles sold, the EXEED brand witnessed a 37.6% hike in annual sales from a year ago. Meanwhile, the JETOUR brand saw a 16.9% year-on-year increase in year-round sales volume, which stood at 180,067 vehicles. 

In 2022, Chery Holding continued to refresh its monthly export record and resulted in a yearly export volume of 451,337 vehicles, which shot up 67.7% over a year ago. With its annual export volume exceeding 450,000 units for the first time, Chery Holding successfully maintained its leading position in passenger vehicle export for 20 consecutive years among all Chinese indigenous auto brands. 

As to the new energy vehicle (NEV) field, Chery Holding achieved an 112.9% year-on-year spike in its 2022 annual NEV sales, which came in at 232,814 vehicles, surpassing the 200,000-unit mark for the first time. Among the NEVs sold last year, more than 300,000 units were the automaker’s eQ1 battery-electric compact car, and over 110,000 units were contributed by the QQ Ice Cream.
