Car and City: SERES Auto sees 23% YoY jump in Nov. registrations

Beijing (ZXZC)- SERES Auto, Chinese ICT giant Huawei’s first official automaking partner, saw its monthly auto registrations reach 11,145 vehicles in November 2022, up 22.65% over a month ago, according to the data compiled by ZXZC Auto Research Institute (GARI).

Owning two auto brands, namely, SERES and AITO, SERES Auto is affiliated to SERES Group, which was formerly known as Chongqing Sokon Industry Group. The two auto brands all have Huawei as their partner.

In the eleventh month of the year, the SF5, SERES and Huawei’s collaborative model under the Huawei Smart Selection pattern, was registered by only 1 unit across China, in Zhengzhou, the provincial capital of Henan Province.

In the past month, the range-extended AITO M5 recorded a monthly registration volume of 3,702 vehicles, remaining flat from a month ago. Shanghai registered the most M5s at 495 vehicles, while the last-month champion, Shenzhen, fell to the second place with 308 M5 registered. 

Meanwhile, with an impressive 388% month-over-month zoom, the battery-electric variant of the M5, the M5 EV, saw its November registrations reach 3,281 units across China, versus the 672 units in October. The pure-electric model is most popular in Hangzhou last month, with a registration volume of 377 units. 

As to AITO’s higher-end extended-range SUV, the M7, a 11.56% month-on-month decline challenged the model’s November registration volume, which came in at 4,161 units. With 458 M7s registered, Shanghai scored the highest ranking regarding M7 registrations in November, outselling the runner-up city, Shenzhen, by 190 units.

In terms of overall registrations of SERES Auto in November, Shanghai climbed up from the second to the top with 1,171 vehicles registered. In the past month, both Hangzhou and Shenzhen reported over 700 units of registrations.
