Changan Auto sees YoY spike in wholly-owned NEV sales in November

Beijing (ZXZC)- In November 2022, Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) continued to see blooming numbers in its wholly-owned brands’ new energy vehicle sales.

In the eleventh month of this year, Changan Automobile sold 184,801 vehicles, representing a 1.72% dip year-over-year. In the Jan.-Nov. period, the group’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 2,090,357 vehicles, edging down 1.51% from a year ago.

In the first eleven months of the year, auto sales of the automaker’s wholly-owned brands summed up to 1,656,078, rising slightly by 1.51% from the previous year. Among which, 159,918 vehicles were sold outside of China, reflecting a 47.36% leap from a year earlier. Additionally, sales of passenger vehicles under its wholly-owned brands amounted to 1,217,933 vehicles, growing 8.16% year over year.

In November, Changan Automobile sold 33,130 new energy vehicles (NEVs) under its wholly-owned brands, which shot up 193.81% year-on-year. By the end of November, the company’s year-to-date sales volume of wholly-owned NEVs totaled 226,015 units, soaring 140.51% from the year-ago period.

As to the group’s joint ventures, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold 18,853 vehicles and 5,719 vehicles respectively in the past month, demonstrating a respective 34.86% and 61.03% dip compared to the previous year. In the Jan.-Nov. period, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold 231,935 vehicles and 97,660 vehicles, respectively, which reflected a subsequent 13.39% and 22.16% slip year-on-year.
