Great Wall Motor achieves highest-ever overseas market sales in Oct. 2022
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Great Wall Motor ("GWM") sold 100,208 new vehicles in Oct. 2022, representing a 10.58% year-on-year decrease, while reflecting a 7.01% month-on-month increase, according to the company's latest monthly sales results.
About 15.12% of the vehicles sold in October were priced above 200,000 yuan ($27,695), said the company.
For the first ten months of the year, GWM saw its auto sales fell 9.4% from the previous year to 902,521 vehicles, 14.62% of which were contributed by those priced over 200,000 yuan, 4.93 percentage points higher than that of the year-ago period.
GWM claimed the monthly sales in overseas markets hit a new high of 21,052 units in Oct. 2022, leaping 49.58% over a year earlier. The automaker sold a total of 132,796 vehicles abroad through the first ten months of the year.

As for the sales performance of each brand, HAVAL recorded a 1.86% year-over-year rise in its Oct. sales, which stood at 63,759 units. Thanks to the impetus by the third-generation H6 DHT-PHEV, the sales of the HAVAL H6 jumped 28.48% over a year earlier to 35,217 units last month.
WEY brand sold 2,427 vehicles in Oct. 2022, resulting in a year-to-date sales volume of 32,891 units.
The new energy vehicle (NEV)-dedicated ORA logged a 57.9% year-over-year plunge with only 5,572 vehicles sold last month. Notably, the brand’s fire new electric sedan, the ORA Lightning Cat, hit the market on Oct. 31 and recorded an order volume of over 15,300 units within 24 hours.
TANK scored a double-digit jump of 28.17% year-over-year. The brand's cumulative sales have already exceeded 200,000 units since its foundation.
GWM Pickup faced a two-digit year-over-year decline in both Oct. sales and Jan.-Oct. sales.
