Honda Motor’s China auto sales decline 7.9% year on year in Jan.-Oct. 2022

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Honda Motor recently announced its monthly China retail sales reached 106,101 units in Oct. 2022, dropping 28.5% from a year earlier, while climbing 4.98% from the previous month.

As for the sales of the two joint ventures, GAC Honda saw its Oct. sales slide 28.2% over a year ago to 55,804 units, while Dongfeng Honda also posted a two-digit year-on-year drop of 28.8% by selling 50,297 vehicles last month.

For the first ten months of 2022, Honda Motor sold 1,156,484 vehicles across China, reflecting a 7.9% decrease over the year-ago period, versus the 5.2% year-on-year decline in the Jan.-Sept. sales.

The year-to-date sales of vehicles armed with the hybrid powertrain system "Sport Hybrid" added up to 168,644 units, dipping 11.6% compared to the same span of 2021.

With 604,834 vehicles sold in total, GAC Honda clocked a 2.2% decline over a year ago in its Jan.-Oct. sales. Nevertheless, a year-on-year dip of 13.5% confronted Dongfeng Honda's year-to-date sales, which stood at 551,650 units.

On Nov. 5, Honda brand orchestrated the world premiere of the e:N2 Concept, the concept of the second e:N series model to be mass produced, at the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE).
