According to the automaker, the Model Y was retrofitted in two aspects, namely the comfort level of the rear-row seats and the emergency opening of the rear-row doors, in an effort to better serve local Chinese users.

Specifically, based on local users’ demand of the riding comfort level, starting mid-October, the newly produced China-made Model Y will have their two rear-row seats elongated by an additional 30mm. The adjustment will provide better leg support for rea-row passengers, easing the fatigue encountered on the ride while elevating riding experience altogether.

In the meantime, there will also be a manual release device on the rear-row doors in case of an emergency.

Aside from the two changes, other configurations of the Model Y will stay the same in China, with standard measurements of 4,750mm in length, 1,921mm in width, 1,624mm in height, and a 2,890mm wheelbase.
