Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese automotive supplier Bethel Automotive Safety Systems Co., Ltd. ("WBTL") on Oct. 10 signed an agreement with the management committee of Taizhou Bay New Area to launch an automotive chassis Wire-Controlled Brake System (WCBS) project in Taizhou city, Zhejiang province.

Under the agreement, WBTL and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group ("Geely Holding") will build a joint venture dedicated to the intelligent automotive chassis system business, in a bid to boost the share of its WCBS products in China's passenger vehicle market.

According to WBTL's press release, it launched the WCBS as far back as 2019 and put the product into volume production in June 2021. The company said its WCBS was expected to be installed into over 20 production models this year.

Adopting WBTL's proprietary One-Box solution, the WCBS integrates such components as vacuum booster, electronic vacuum pump, master cylinder, ESC (electronic stability control), and EPB (electronic parking brake) systems, with a better ability to meet the new NEV (new energy vehicle) and intelligent vehicles' demands for braking systems.

Founded in June 2004 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, WBTL specializes in the R&D, manufacturing and sales of automotive safety systems and advanced driver assistance systems. It has independent development capability and product series for mechanical brake systems, such as disc brake module, fixed caliper, integrated parking brake, foundation brake, booster, and light weight products (aluminum knuckle, aluminum control arm, aluminum caliper), according to the introduction from the company's website.
