Faurecia, Leapmotor ally on automotive seating supply chain

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Faurecia, a company of the world's leading automotive technology group FORVIA, on Sept. 30 inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) startup Leapmotor to jointly deploy a sustainable and high-quality automobile seating supply chain.

Faurecia is a global leading automotive supplier and inspires mobility through its four business groups: Seating, Interiors, Electronics, and Clean Mobility. In the Seating field, the company possesses a full-fledged product line that encompasses frames, mechanisms, covers, foam, and mechatronics system with an industry leading capability of complete seat assembly.

Faurecia's Seating business group is also working on developing innovative comfort solutions applicable to various scenarios and advanced seating safety system. Currently, it has built in China a total of 7 R&D centers and 25 factories with over 7,700 staff members.

As one of main NEV startups in China, Leapmotor has grasped the in-house design, R&D, and manufacturing capabilities for the core systems and electronic components to intelligent electric vehicles. The NEV maker has already delivered such models as the S01, the T03, the C11, and the C01. On Sept. 29, shares of Leapmotor started trade on Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

In Sept. 2022, Leapmotor delivered 11,039 vehicles, representing a year-on-year surge of over 200%. For the first nine months of this year, the company's cumulative deliveries reached 87,602 units.
