The CVC, which integrates ADAS, body functions, gateways, and VCU functions, is one of the core systems of the next-generation intelligent vehicle architecture. Its successful development and application marked an important step towards software-defined vehicles.
The newly developed CVC is one of the core systems of Aptiv’s next-generation intelligent vehicle architecture concept, SVA™. SVA™ is able to simplify the vehicle architecture complexity and provide the electrical and electronic architecture foundation for the development of software-defined vehicles and the next-generation intelligent connected vehicles, the company said.
Tang Haiyi, president of Aptiv Advanced Safety and User Experience China, the CVC is a collaborative result of Aptiv’s global technicians with Aptiv’s China R&D center taking on the leading roll. The successful development signifies Aptiv’s strong localized R&D capability as well as the world-renowned company’s commitment to the Chinese market.
Based on the expanded computing power of central gateways, the CVC integrates L2 ADAS function, body function, vehicle control function, and signal service conversion function, serving as the central gateway that provide network security for the vehicle.
The signal service conversion module is located at the core of the computing platform, which facilitates the development and improves the efficiency of service invocation. It works as a network gateway as well as a computing center and a core component with software/hardware separation.
According to Aptiv, the CVC has been first applied in the Chinese market, helping to simplify the signal matrix and functional structure of the traditional vehicle’s electrical and electronic architecture, providing hardware and software platform foundation for software defined vehicle.
