Chery Holding boasts three-digit YoY growth in Aug. NEV sales, export volume

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chery Holding sold 141,767 vehicles in August 2022, representing an 111% robust growth compared to the same span of 2021, the automobile group announced today.

Both new energy vehicle (NEV) and export businesses refreshed their record in monthly sales. Last month, Chery Holding saw its NEV sales zoom up 267.8% year on year to 28,459 units, while its export volume shot up 152.7% from a year ago to 51,774 units.

For the first eight months of 2022, the group sold a total of 748,550 vehicles (+30% YoY), including 166,354 NEVs (+200% YoY). Its year-to-date export volume leapt 51.1% over the previous year to 250,633 units.

As for respective performance of each unit, Chery Automobile sold 107,013 vehicles (+132.3% YoY) in August, resulting in a year-to-date sales volume of 566,883 units (+47.1% YoY).

As Chery brand's main sales contributors, the Tiggo 8 recorded a 98.5% year-on-year spike with 18,286 units sold last month, while the Tiggo 7's Aug. sales reached 20,286 units, rocketing 628.1% from a year ago.

The EXEED brand posted a 214.4% year-on-year soar in its Aug. sales, which stood at 5,543 units. It sold 28,572 vehicles cumulatively in the Jan.-Aug. period, a 57.8% growth over the prior-year period.

The group also sold 18,979 vehicles under the JETOUR brand last month, representing an 84.6% spike year-over-year. The year-to-date sales of JETOUR's vehicles amounted to 96,716 units, edging up 3.4% over the previous year.
