Beijing (ZXZC)- In the seventh month of 2022, the capital of China, Beijing, witnessed a jump in its monthly passenger vehicle registrations compared to the previous month, according to data compiled by ZXZC Auto Research Institute (GARI). 

In July, there were a total of 54,799 passenger vehicles registered in the citycapital, representing a 20.56% jump from June. In the first seven months of this year, the cumulative registration volume of Beijing amounted to 263,974 vehicles.

Among the top ten most registered brands in Beijing in the month, two were Chinese brands. Aside BYD, who is a regular player on the list, Trumpchi, the sub-brand of GAC Group also made it to the list at the tenth place with 1,702 registrations in the month.

Model-wise, BYD’s Song PLUS EV, Yuan PLUS, and Volkswagen’s PASSAT all have over 15,000 vehicles registered in Beijing in the past month. Aside from the aforementioned two models, BYD have another two models on the top ten list, namely the Han EV (1,088 vehicles) and the Qin PLUS EV (906 vehicles).

In the seventh month of this year, there were 17,469 new energy vehicles (NEVs) registered in Beijingthe capital, of which battery-electric vehicles were still the most popular choice among all, with 16,307 vehicles registered.

As usual, BYD took up the most slots on the top ten most popularregistered NEV model list in July, with six models listed. The Volkswagen ID.4 CROZZ was the only one from a joint venturejoint venture brand vehicle on the list, with 759 registrations. Notably, the Model Y, the frequent attendee on the monthly NEV registration list in Beijing, did not make the cut in July.

As to indigenous NEV startups, NIO registered the most vehicles in Beijing among the top five NEV startups in China, with XPeng came in at a close second. Meanwhile, with 236 vehicles registered, Li Auto ranked last among all five brands in the past month.
